In order to be able to help customers quickly in case of malfunctions of the special machines, Velco in Velbert today uses a cloud-based solution from Turck, which enables worldwide remote access via PC or smartphone and was the only one that could meet all requirements. „What convinced us about the Turck Cloud was that you have an overview of all machines worldwide on one page in your browser and can simply click on it or switch between machines,“ says Velco electrical engineer Michael Sundmacher. Customer employees call up the Velco Cloud dashboard and see their machines listed in the navigation. A map in Google Maps look shows where the individual machines are located. If the employee clicks on an entry, the dashboard clearly displays all relevant data. In addition to analog values such as water pressure or material fill level, this includes digital displays such as operating status or the status of the emergency stop button. In addition, the user sees an operating hours counter and other numerical displays. The dashboard can be easily put together by each user – with just a few clicks and without any programming knowledge.
This solution was nominated for the Automation Award 2020 in the DIGITALIZATION category.
